Florida State’s recruiting efforts were largely a success today. The Seminoles landed prospects such as four-star running back Ousmane Kromah from Georgia, four-star wide receiver Jayvan Boggs from UCF, four-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux from Auburn and three-star offensive lineman Sean Poret from USF exchange.

I honestly didn’t know how today was going to go considering how little success the Seminoles had on National Signing Day. It was definitely a breath of fresh air.

That being said, not everything has been rosy as five-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas has decided to sign with the LSU Tigers. It is very disappointing that this happened. Thomas is a very talented prospect at an important position for the Seminoles.

However, I will say that I am very glad he decided not to sign with arch-rival Florida Gators, where the Seminoles will struggle with players like Thomas for the next three to four years. I fully expected this day to happen as Florida State fired offensive coordinator/offensive coach Alex Atkins.

As we all know, Atkins is one of the best recruiters on the coaching staff. He had developed a relationship with all the offensive players in the class. Four-star Peyton Joseph (Georgia Tech), three-star Daniel-Pierre (Florida) and now five-star Solomon Thomas (LSU) decided to sign elsewhere.

They were able to retain four-star Mario Nash Jr. and trade three-star Sean Poret from USF. However, the Seminoles wanted to rebuild their entire offensive line.

There was some great news on Wednesday night as On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons reported that Georgia Tech’s five-star offensive lineman in the Class of 2025, Josh Petty, will not be signing with the Yellow Jackets today.

That doesn’t mean Petty won’t sign with Georgia Tech on Thursday, but it does open the door for other teams to get involved. The offensive lineman was chosen to commit to Florida State before choosing Georgia Tech.
