The cruel disease affects the nervous system and has been described as “ALS and Parkinson’s disease combined” – sufferers are not usually expected to live past 10 years.

During the last edition of Fox NFL Kickoff, Thompson presented a segment about Aiden’s situation.

The post described the illness Aiden suffers from while also highlighting the value of the quality time he spends playing football with his father Marc and his little brother.

During last week’s show, Aiden and his dad had the opportunity to visit the Fox NFL studios and even meet one of their heroes.

The two are fans of the New Orleans Saints and met defensive end Cam Jordan.

Aiden was introduced to Jordan before hugging his proud father.

“It just felt like that father-son moment came full circle to the things we value most together,” said father Marc.

Mum Dana added: “Aiden is considerate, caring and sensitive. When he smiles, his dimples pop out and melt everyone’s hearts.”

“He reminded us what is important in life: to love deeply and to forgive quickly, especially your little brother.”

“Most of the children affected don’t live past 10 and Aiden is currently seven and a half years old, we don’t have much time. Being loved by Aiden is truly special.”

“I’m too old for this,” Charissa Thompson claims after offering to help Erin Andrews during the Fox NFL offseason

When the emotional portion ended and the show returned to the studio, Thompson, 42, fought back tears as she went through her next link.

“I’m going to try not to cry while I read this,” she began. “On behalf of everyone here at Fox and the Steiner family, to Aiden, we send you a very warm hug.”

“And if you want to get involved in the fight against INAD, then donate this Tuesday. Your contribution, no matter how large, will directly support the only treatment development that can help save lives from this cruel disease.”

“Thank you for everything you do”

She then apologized and struggled not to cry, adding: “I’m so sorry. And also Cam Jordan, thank you for everything you do.”

Aiden’s A-Team was created to raise money for the Inad Cure Foundation, with every dollar donated benefiting the charity.

On Aiden’s A-Team website, they showed their appreciation to Fox for spreading the word.

Alongside a video of the segment, they wrote: “Special thanks to Fox Sports for showing Aiden to the world and telling his story.”
