Facebook to remove Livestream videos in Vietnam after 30 days

The decision has triggered mixed reactions, with some users seeing live streams as important records, personal memories or reference materials for events such as workshops, speeches and conferences.

To help users keep content, Facebook introduced new download tools.

“To make it easier for you to save live videos that you have shared beforehand, we start several download tools with which you can keep your videos indefinitely,” it says.

Users can download videos to their devices, transmit them into cloud memory or convert them into short form rolls, although this format is limited to 90 seconds per video.

Facebook has explained that videos from remembered accounts – profiles of deceased users who are preserved as tributes for friends and family to share memories are not deleted.
