A sports reporter died in New Orleans on Wednesday to cover the Super Bowl 59.

Telemundo Kansas City (KGKC) announced on Thursday that the 27-year-old Adan Manzano, who worked as an anchor and as a reporter, died during the task of treating the Super Bowl for both the Spanish language network and Tico Sports.

Manzano’s wife, Ashleigh Leeann Boyd Manzano, died last year in a car accident. She was a second class teacher at the Lowman Hill Elementary School.

“We are sad that Adan Manzano died in New Orleans yesterday,” said KGKC in a press release. “We work with the law enforcement authorities while examining this tragic event.”
