Saturday is a first watchful weather day; Severe weather probably

Montgomery, Ala. (WSFA) – We explained Saturday as the first watchful weather day because the risk of tornados, very large hail and harmful wind. While the exact locations and the time of the biggest storms are still unclear, the latest data show a significant risk of storm for all of Alabama. You need several reliable methods to obtain weather notifications. Noaa Weather Radio and the WSFA First Alert Weather app are a winning combination.

The most important thing first, a few isolated storms will appear on Thursday. These will be stained but intense, and the strongest storm kernels could create bags with harmful wind gusts and/or a small hail. We do not expect tornados and the overall festival about the storm risk on Thursday is very low.

Friday will complete a large storm system west of Alabama and quickly strengthen yourself. A significant episode of storm is probably on the southern levels. These storms will spread in the far west and northwest of Alabama on Friday evening, but we expect * most of these storms northwest of the WSFA area.

What happens on Friday evening and Saturday morning is crucial for determining our storm threat for Saturday afternoon and night. The latest data indicates a clearing sky and the morning sun in early Saturday, which would heat and destabilize the air via Alabama. This scenario, paired with intensive windshors, would create an environment that can generate very large hail, harmful wind and tornados, some of which could be strong (EF-2+).

The worst weather will probably take place on Saturday afternoon to Saturday evening and will vacate the state with sunrise on Sunday.

Now plan the likelihood of a storm on Saturday. Spend some time in the next few days via your storm security plan – where will you go in the event of a tornado? If you live in a mobile or manufactured home, it is at least worth a conversation to discuss the opportunity to spend on Saturday and Saturday evening with family or friends who live in a deputy structure or near a storm protection/near a storm accommodation/in the basement.
