The retail chain no longer accepts gift cards because it is preparing to close all locations

The trading dealer Joann no longer accepts the use of her own gift cards.

The chain will be subjected to a liquidation process after an bankruptcy application in January. The first plans were to close over 500 of the more than 800 shops across the country, but the remaining shops were announced in order to be able to close after the GA group had won the offer for the majority of Joann’s assets.

With sales with sales with the business, however, it has announced that they will no longer accept gift cards sold by the company.

The guideline to no longer put the gift cards on February 28, which follows shortly after the announcement of February 25 that every business would close.

Some customers have gone on social media and shared their frustrations about keeping gift cards that can no longer be redeemed.

“I just want you to know how incredibly annoying it is that you do our ability to use gift cards,” read a comment on the Joann Instagram page. “Regardless of the fact that you close, your company has taken money and now refuses to give the product for it in return. Incorrect.”

While state laws vary in relation to the use of gift cards, in particular with regard to their process, their use is determined by an insolvency court during liquidation.
